Purest Maldives
David Mesnard arrived in the Maldives in 1989, at that time only two boats were in operation. today with more than hundred liveaboards the goal for he, his crew and his regular guests is to get away from the crowds and discover new dive sites on the southern atolls. During the first trip amazing places were discovered and everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
“it's like the Maldives 30 years ago!” Ocean Divine will continue the adventure winter 2012.
On board Ocean Divine, for the first time join David and Gaelle on the southern atolls on a prospection for new dive sites with our regulars clients.
Mars/April 2011
Getting away from the crowds today is a luxury and no other charter boat searches to offer such a difference dive experience. The south is far and can only be experienced by well prepared live aboard vessels with modern facilities.
The best time of the year to dive these southern atolls are from february till mid april so there is limited trips each year. The highlight of previous trips has been the channel dives with east/west currents. There are considerable amounts of pelagic fish and sharks, with the dives from 60 to 120 feet and for experienced divers only. Another feature is the amazing coral life, miles and miles of untouched and unspoiled pristine reef with an abundance of marine life.
On our last trip (March April 2011), was thoroughly enjoyed by everybody confirming our decision to go back next year following the same itinerary throughout the Southern Atolls!!
Remember, places are limited to 14 guests per charter maximum, please contact Gaelle to confirm your reservation .
The itinerary around South Maldives
Start/return point: Male.
Guests arrive at Male international airport and will join Ocean Divine in the afternoon depending on their arrival time. The next few days we head south at a rhythm of 3 dives a day except when we change Atolls as the navigation takes time to reach the southern Atolls.
One way or another, the itinerary stays the same with many virgin islands to visit. Wild BBQs are very special on these virgin islands. Beautiful snorkeling or free diving before the first dive of the day for the ones who like to follow David on his early morning schedule.
Southern atolls, recently opened to tourism: Few years back, it was not possible for tourists to venture and explore this unchartered area. In future, the zone may develop quickly and it is now a perfect time to go and explore before the crowds.
